Extension and cellar Nieuwkoopseweg Pijnacker.
On Nieuwkoopseweg in Pijnacker, the architectural firm Cladder added an extension to an existing house with a basement. The extension has increased the main volume of the house. Where the terrace used to be—in the recess of the house—now stands the extension.
Challenge
The challenge in designing the extension to this house was to merge the house and the extension in such a way that they formed a single whole.
Value
The living room, kitchen, dining room, and office form a continuous whole. The enormous sense of space is truly breathtaking. The basement and extension make the house spacious, a villa on a substantial plot.
