Parklaan Zaandijk

A dormer window and an extension to the house on Parklaan in Zaandijk.

A dormer window above the stairwell, a dormer window on the other side of the house, a ground floor extension on the side of the house, and new steel windows inside, all designed to visually connect all the spaces. That was the entire brief. The result is a very spacious house. There are also plenty of places to relax.

Challenge

There's a place for everyone in this house, but not confined! Spatial connections where everyone feels at home yet still connects with others.

Value

The large glass walls connecting one room to the next create a sense of connection, light, and a private, secluded space. Light from above, through the large skylight, floods the entire house.
